Statement from Councillor Stephen Cooksey

Leader of Mole Valley District Council, Councillor Stephen Cooksey said, “We are now active in our recovery phase and have established three Council groups to lead this for Mole Valley, on Prosperity, Wellbeing and Environment.  These groups are considering all aspects of our services and how we can best continue to support our residents, communities and local businesses in the coming months.

Our council committee meetings are up and running online, you can see details of these just as before on our website.  Businesses which were not eligible for either the Small Business Grants or the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants may be eligible for a new, discretionary grant.  We are currently working on the application process for these new grants and expect to have an application form on our website by the end of May.

This week we are reminding everyone that food waste will be collected separately, so to leave food waste caddys out until 4pm.  Anyone who has received a letter telling them their food waste caddy day has changed should put the caddy out on the newly assigned day from this week.  You can check your bin day by calling us on 01306 885001.

This weekend, despite the bank holiday on Monday all waste collections are taking place as normal.  If you are going out and about then please do remember to adhere to the 2m social distance guidelines.  I do wish you all a restful weekend.
