Surrey County Council propose to make the above-named Order, under Section 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to: – 1. Impose a maximum speed limit of 40 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified and described in the First Schedule to this Notice. 2. Impose a maximum speed limit of 30 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified and described in the Second Schedule to this Notice. 3. “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Mole Valley)(50MPH Seed Limit)Order 1999” shall be amended so shall have effect as though that part of the First Part to The Schedule that restricts the maximum speed limit to 50MPH in that part of the length of B2033 Reigate Road, Leatherhead specified and described in the First Schedule to this Notice that extends from its junction with A24 By-Pass Road at the “Beaverbrook Roundabout”, south-eastwards then eastwards for a distance of 191m, is revoked.
The speed limits proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011. A copy of this Notice together with plans showing the lengths of road to which this Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be viewed online at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/policies-plans-consultations/roads-and-transport-consultations. FIRST SCHEDULE
- a) That length of C55 Headley Road, Leatherhead that extends from the termination point of the existing 50mph speed limit at a point 80m south-east of the island site situated at its junction with A24 By-Pass Road, to the termination point of the existing 30mph speed limit at a point 28m north-west of its eastern junction with X15119 The Drive and Streetlight N11.
- b) That length of B2033 Reigate Road, Leatherhead that extends from its junction with A24 By-Pass Road at the “Beaverbrook Roundabout”, to its junction with B2033 Mill Way.
- c) The entire length of B2033 Mill Way, Leatherhead that extends from its junction with B2033 Reigate Road, to its junction with B2033 Leech Lane.
- d) That length of B2033 Leech Lane, Leatherhead that extends from its junction with B2033 Mill Way, to the termination point of the existing 30mph speed limit, at a point 54m west of its D312 Lodgebottom Road.
SECOND SCHEDULE
- a) The entire length of D312 Lodgebottom Road, Headley that extends from its junction with B2033 Leech Lane, to its junction with D312 Headley Lane.
- b) The entire length of D312 Headley Lane, Mickleham that extends from its junction with D312 Lodgebottom Road, to its junction with B2209 Old London Road.
- c) That length of C55 Hurst Lane, Headley that extends from its junction with C56 Clay Lane, to a point 35m south of its junction with D2476 Walton Road.
