HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, 10 June 1921 to 9 April 2021
On behalf of Headley Parish Council and the residents of Headley, I would like to offer our deepest condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and to all the members of the Royal Family on the death of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
His efforts notably to promote wildlife conservation and in developing the Duke of Edinburgh’s awards for young people have directly touched many in our community. As we remember his long life of loyalty and service, our thoughts are with his family and especially the Queen.
Cllr David Preedy,
Chairman, Headley Parish Council
The Royal Family has set up an official e-book of condolence here. A selection of messages received will be passed onto members of the Royal Family and may be held in the Royal Archives.
In light of the current COVID-19 restrictions, and in line with the Royal Family’s wishes, residents wanting to express their condolences are being encouraged to make a donation to a charity of their choice, or one of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Patronages in his memory, instead of leaving floral tributes. More information about the charities and organisations the Duke supported are at https://www.royal.uk/dukes-charities-and-patronages
