Join us on Saturday 12th July in celebrating the 80th anniversary year of VE Day. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe. As we reflect on this historic milestone, families and communities across the nation are encouraged to come together in unity and celebration, marking 80 years since the end of World War II.
In Headley and the surrounding areas, we will be celebrating with a Hamper Hop at the Cricket Pitch. The event will feature a marquee with tables and seating, creating the perfect party atmosphere for an evening of fun. Bring your own food and drink, and get ready to dance the night away with live music.
By popular demand, following the success of Headley’s Jubilee and Coronation celebrations, Danny Edwardson and Pete Smith will be performing at our VE Day event once again. Many of you will recognize Danny and Pete from their Nite Train days, and now as OFF THE RAILS, a four-piece band consisting of two guitarists, bass, and drums. OFF THE RAILS brings decades of musical experience from their gigs across the globe, and their four vocal harmonies set them apart from other acts. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy their unique sound and infectious energy.
Come early and enjoy a relaxing drink from the Pavilion Bar which is open from 6pm and throughout the evening.
Try your luck and win one of many great prizes in our charity raffle, generously supported by local businesses and community members. We extend our thanks to everyone who has contributed raffle prizes so far.

As with previous events, we have chosen a nominated charity for this celebration. This year, we are proud to support Combat Stress (Charity Registration No 206002) , an organisation that provides vital 24/7 helpline services and specialist treatment for veterans facing complex mental health issues resulting from their military service. Their work is crucial in supporting veterans from all services and conflicts, and we’re honoured to contribute to this important cause. You can find our more about them here.
For accessible parking such as registered Blue Badge holders please email clerk@headley-pc.gov.uk so that we can endeavour to meet your needs. An accessible toilet will be available for the evening.
As much as we wish all to enjoy the event, please note that the venue by nature of being a village cricket ground in a greenbelt location, does not have level access and is subject to varying ground conditions attributed to the weather.
Tickets are priced at £25 with all profits going to charity.

Join us in Headley for a night of music, reflection, and community spirit, as we celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day and pay tribute to all those who helped shape the world we live in today.
NO GLASS ON SITE – For safety reasons, no glass is permitted.
As this is a community event held under a marquee at a sporting venue, we kindly ask all attendees to use alternatives to glass for their drinks—ideally recyclable or reusable containers. Thank you for helping us keep the event safe and enjoyable for everyone.
